Countries all over the world have their own iconic landmarks, visited by thousands of tourists. Many famous landmarks are really amazing and breathtaking scenery, that every tourists would love to visit. Some have weird architectural designs, that made it famous and attract foreign visitors.
1) Statue of Liberty
The statue of Liberty , New York City, USA, was built in 1924 a National Monument and icon statue that symbolizes Freedom and Democracy.
The World Trade Center (WTC), was destroyed on September 11, 2001 by terrorist attack. The WTC or Twin Towers of the World Center, had a 7 complex building located in lower Manhattan, New York City.
2) Stonehenge, England
Stonehenge, one of the most famous ancient monuments found in Wiltshire County in United Kingdom. Stonehenge is considered a sacred place since it served as a burial ground in ancient times, when they found ashes from a ritual of cremation. Many people believed this ceremonial place is related to supernatural world, and rituals of Orders of Ancient Druids was performed here in August 1905.

9) Burj Al Arab, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The famous Burj Al Arab in Dubai (UAE), maybe one of the most expensive hotel in the world, per room rate is $1000 per night. The weird shape of this hotel resembles a sailing ship. This is the second tallest man made building. The tallest building also found in Dubai, The Rose Tower building. Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai is one of the iconic symbol of Dubai in UAE.

11) Taipei 101, Taipeh, Taiwan
The Taipei 101 or also called Taipei Financial Center, located in Xinyi District in Taipei, is a skycraper landmark of Taiwan. It was rank officially the tallest building in the world from 2004, until the Burj of Kalipha of Dubai opened in 2010.
12) Macau Sky Tower , Macau, China
This famous tower of Macau was inspired by the rich businessman Stanley Ho Hung-Sun, during his visit in Auckland Sky Tower and gave him the idea to build the tower in Macau. The Macau Sky Tower became famous when AJ Hackett and popular artist Edison Chen, broke two World Guinness Record at the Macau Sky Tower on December 17,2006. The ‘Highest Bungee Jumping from a Building’. The tower was officially opened on December 19, 2001. The Macau Sky Tower is 1,109 feet in height from the ground level, located at the former Portuguese colony of Macau, and now under the Special Administration Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China.
Ruins of St Paul, Macau
The Ruins of St Paul Church or Ruinas de Sao Paulo, was the former cathedral of St Paul, built in 17th century, dedicated to St Paul, the Apostle, built from 1582 to 1602. It is Macau’s famous landmark and was officially listed by UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Centre of Macau.

This amazing, unique landmark that symbolizes China, the most celebrated symbol of China, and famous tourists spot. This also symbolizes cruelty and futility, of the first emperor’s military and political ambitions.
14) Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet
The Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet located in Lhasa Autonomous Region, China at the peak of ‘Marpo Ri’, the “Red Hill”, is the symbol of ‘sacred land’, a Tibetan treasure of history, religion, arts and cultures. Named after Mount Potala, the home of Avalokitesvara or Chenresig, the former resident of Dalai Lama unti the 14th Dalai Lama migrate to Dharamsala, India. Was recognized as the tallest building in 1998 to 2004, but was surpass by the tallest building in Taipeh, the Taipeh 101, but Petronas remain the tallest twin building in the world.
17) Singapore
This imaginary creature of half lion and half fish, the famous landmark in Singapore the Merlion or ‘Singa-Laut’ also used as mascot of Singapore. “Mer” means, combination of fish and lion, comes from ancient fishing village, named “Temasek”, meaning ‘sea town’ derived from the Java. “Singapura” which means ‘Lion City” or “Kota Singa”.

18) Shwedagon Pagoda, Burma
