Karni Mata was a female Hindu sage born in the Charan caste and is worshiped as the incarnation of the goddess Durga by her followers, and the official deity of the royal family of Jodhpur and Bikaner. Nari bai, the second name of Karni mata, and many followers claimed the Hindu sect temples is not affiliated with the Jainism. Legend has it that Laxman, Karni Mata’s stepson (or the son of one of her storytellers), drowned in a water tank he was attempting to drink from. Karni Mata implored Yama, the god of death, to revive him. First refusing, Yama eventually relented, permitting Laxman and all of Karni mata’s male children to be reincarnated as rats. The more than 20,000 black rats, living in the temple, is famous, though creepy and weird. According to their beliefs, if one of the rats is killed, it must be replaced with one made of solid gold. Eating food that has been nibbled or left-overs by the rats is considered to be a “high honor“. Out of all of the thousands of rats in the temple, there are a few white rats, which are considered to be especially holy. They are believed to be the manifestations of Karni Mata herself and her four sons. Sighting them is a special blessing and visitors put in extensive efforts to bring them forth, offering prasad, a sweet holy food.

7) Xochimilco , Mexico
Xochimilco is one of the sixteen delegations or boroughs within Mexican Federal District. The borough is centered on the formerly Xochimilco independent city, established on what was the Lake Xochimilko southern shore in the pre-Hispanic period. Along the artificial islands known as Chinampas, are the canals , where trajineras boats or colorful gondolas passes through, famous for tourists rides or local residents which is 170 km of canals.
However, the most famous amphibian animal from these waters is famously known as the axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum), commonly used used as a medicine, food and ceremonial object during the Aztec empire. It was considered to be an incarnation of the god Xolotl, brother of Quetzalcoatl. The axolotl is famous due to its abilities to regenerate limbs and other body parts, and has the ability to breath air on dry land but with limited time, and can also reach sexual maturity as a larva, which no other amphibian can do.
The Xoloitzcuintli is a rare, hairless breed of dog, found in toy, miniature and standard sizes. It is also known as Mexican hairless dog in English speaking countries.
8) Islas De las Munecas
The best-known in Xochimilco chinampa belonged to a man named Julián Santana Barrera, a native of the La Asunción neighborhood. Santana Barrera was a loner, who was rarely seen in most of Xochimilco. He came to fame because he would collect the old broken dolls’ bodies from the canals and rubbish areas or dump sites, and then hang them from branches and tie them to tree trunks to keep away evil spirits and appease the spirit of a dead girl he had found in the canal a few years before. He would state that he believed that the dolls were somehow still “alive” but “forgotten” by their owners, and other places was “discovered” in the early 1990s, covered with water lilies area was being cleared. Before this, it was thought that no one lived on this chinampa, but Santana Barrera was there, living in a hut with no services and generally did not receive visitors, other than family. The display of dolls and parts attracted attention of the press and other visitors, which later on he called the place La Monecas, he narrated to them that the dolls were there to keep away evil spirits and to help with the harvests in his gardens, and he frequently moved the dolls around among the tree branches. He began to receive more visitors to see the dolls, which eventually included local political figures. In 2001, Santana Barrera died, there were many versions on how he mysteriously died, some say he drowned himself in the river because he was driven insane, others say the dolls came alive and killed him, his body was found where the girl died, but in fact he just died of old age. The dolls, however, are still on the island, accessible by boats if you ever want to see this mysterious weird island of the dolls.

Bang Kwang Central Prison is a men’s prison at the Chao Phraya river in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand, located about 7 miles north of Bangkok, where many foreign prisoners are incarcerated. The most noted harsh prison which handles death row and long-sentence prisoners, where all prisoners are required to wear leg irons for the first three months of their sentences, while the prisoners on the death row inmates have their leg irons welded permanently. Every prisoners received one bowl of rice in vegetable soup each day. Other food must be purchased from the prison canteen with a chit system. Each prisoner has an “account” with the canteen, but the poor prisoners do chores for wealthier prisoners and prison guards to earn money for food. Some British and Lebanese prisoners receive extra money per month from charities. The British Embassy also provides food and vitamins for their prisoners. Prisoners are provided with cooking facilities and gas for the stoves is provided by the prison. Thai prisoners used to be served Khao Daeng red rice, foreign prisoners white rice, but has been abolished as it was seen as discrimination, so nowadays all prisoners are now served white rice.
