Old age is the nearing or exceeding the average life span of a human beings or animals, and end of the life cycle. Seniors or senior citizens and elderly in American and British language and the term for old age. Elder people have limited reproduction of reproductive tissues, cells which have been used up or damaged by the ordinary process of life, and the continual regeneration of the epithelial cells of the body, or the regeneration of the contractile of substance of muscles, that makes the elderly prone to diseases, syndromes or any kind of illness compared to the younger age. There are rare senescence or aging process in some human being, a rare genetic disorders called progeria (a rare aging disease manifested in early birth, also known as DNA repair deficiency. Oxidative stress in human beings is involved in many kinds of diseases such as anaemia or blood disorders (Sickle Cell Disease), Parkinson’s disease, Alzeimer’s disease, Schizophrenia, heart failure and prone to diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure and heart diseases. Some considered a person as old age if the person is a grandparent, or when they are already in their retirement age. Retirement age is usually 60 years old in other countries, and known as Senior or Senior Citizen in American and British usage. But in the United States the traditional age of retirement age is 65 years old and are eligible for the Social Security Benefits.

Gloria Stewart, was born on July 4, 1910, an American actress appeared in the Invisible Man and as Rose Dawson Calvert, the elderly, in the Titanic film. Doris Eaton Travis was born March 14,1904, she was a Broadway entertainer and film actress, dance instructor and author. She was the last surviving Ziegfeld girls. At the age of 88, she graduated as Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. And at the age of 100, she was awarded an honorary doctorate from Oakland University in 2004. Eaton Travis died at the age of 106, due to aneurysm on May 11, 2010.
