The largest film producer in India and one of the world’s largest film production centers of the film industry based in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), Maharashtra is known as Bollywood in informal term commonly used for the Hindi language, the term is often incorrectly used in referring the Indian cinema or formally known as Hindi cinema. In Bollywood films, Bollywood songs, or in formal way known as Hindi film songs, are featured in the films, also known as filmi songs. In the Hindi cinema the presence of Indian English has been a growing in dialogue and in Hindi film songs, which is very common to see films featuring Hinglish dialogue with English words, phrases, or even whole sentences. Hinglish (is a name combination of two words like Hindi and English) is a mixture language, a hybrid of English and South Asian languages, it is a code-switching various languages where they are free to mix English with their native language within a sentence or between sentences, example of Hinglish vocabulary, glassy: wanting a drink, Eve teasing (public sexual harassment) co-brother: brother-in-law, and many others. Hinglish is commonly seen in Hindi-speaking states in India in urban and semi-urban centers, but becoming viral and spread in many rural and remote areas through media or television, mobile phones and by word of mouth, which slowly achieving native language or native dialect status. Hinglish has also affected the English speaking in England, influenced by Indian immigrants with their adaptation of words and expressions and their offspring into colloquial English in England. Bollywood films are popular not only in India or Hindi speaking audience, but became famous as far as Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Chad, Ethiopia and to Russia’s generations of non-Indian fans have grown up with Bollywood during the years, the cross-cultural appeal of Indian movies. Bollywood films is also popular among Somali diaspora, where the emerging Islamic Courts Union found a Bête noire or something they hated. Bollywood films are watched widely in the South Asian countries, like Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, where some notable Bollywood celebrities originated from these countries. 1) Aamir Khan
Aamir Hussain Khan born March 14, 1965, is an Indian film actor, director, and producer, one of the leading actors of Hindi cinema. Aamir Khan started his acting career as a child actor in the 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baaraat, with his uncle actor Nasir Hussain. After eleven years, Aamir Khan began his professional career with the 1984 film Holi and had his first commercial success with the 1988′s Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, followed by the 2008′s thriller Ghajini, became the highest grossing film of 2008, and the 2009′s comedy 3 Idiots, became 2010′s highest-grossing Bollywood film. Aamir Khan was appointed as UNICEF’s national brand ambassador to promote child nutrition on November 30, 2011. Aamir Khan was ranked among Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World List in April 2013. Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta, on April 18, 1986, who had a cameo role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Khan and Dutta have two children, a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira. Reena Dutta worked as a producer for the film Lagaan and was involved in Khan’s acting career shortly. Aamir Khan filed for divorce in December 2002, ending their 15-year marriage, his ex wife Reena took custody of their two children. Khan married Kiran Rao, an Indian film producer, screenwriter, and director, on December 28, 2005, who had been an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker during the Lagaan‘s filming. Aamir Khan and his wife, Kiran Rao, announced the birth of their son, Azad Rao Khan, on December 5, 2011, through a surrogate mother. Khan lost a custody battle for his younger brother Faisal to their father, Tahir Hussain in 2007. On February 2, 2010, Khan’s father passed away. He is a supporter of Muslim religion.
2) Zayed Khan
Zayed Abbas Khan, born 5 July 1980, is an Indian actor actor and producer who appears in numerous Hindi films, best known for his performance in Main Hoon Na. Zayed Khan’s parents are former actor of Bollywood Sanjay Khan and Zarine Khan, an interior designer. Zayed Khan is the youngest of four children. Khan’s older sisters are Simone Khan married to Ajay Arora, Sussanne Roshan married to actor Hrithik Roshan, and Farah Khan Ali married to India’s singer and composer DJ Aqeel. Zayed Khan is related as first cousin to Fardeen Khan, another Bollywood actor, whose father is also a Bollywood actor Feroz Khan, the brother of Zayed’s father. Farah Khan Ali
Farah Khan Ali is a gemologist (dealing with natural and artificial gems and gemstones) and jewellery designer in India, the eldest of the four children of parents Actor-Producer-Director Sanjay Khan and his wife Zarine Khan, Interior Designer. Farah Khan Ali is the sister of Suzanne Roshan (married to actor Hrithik Roshan) and Zayed Khan. In 2004, Farah launched her own jewellery brand Farah Khan. Farah designed jewellery for some of the top Bollywood stars and India’s prominent business families. Farah Khan married DJ Aqeel. Together, they have two children, a son, Azaan and a daughter, Fizaa. DJ Aqeel is a known DJ, singer and composer from India, became popular after his song Shake it daddy Mix in early 2000, with his rising popularity when his song Tu hai wahi which was a remix of the song Yeh Wada Raha from the 1982 movie of the same title became popular in the 2000. Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan born on January 10, 1974, is an Indian film actor best known as a versatile actor, and work ethic to great dramatic range. In 1980′s Hrithik became popular as a child actor, made his film debut in a leading role in 2000′s Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai. Hrithik garnered Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Male Debut with his performance in the said film. In the same year, Hrithik’s film was followed with leading roles in Fiza and Mission Kashmir (both films released in 2000) and in the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham multi-star blockbuster. Hrithik was born in Mumbai to a family of actors and musician personalities. Roshan was born with supernumerary thumb or two thumbs on his right hand, although in his films, it is commonly hidden, but was shown in the 2003 Bollywood science fiction film, Koi… Mil Gaya (English: I… Found Someone) directed by his father, Rakesh Roshan, who also appeared in cameo role, which starred himself, Hrithik Roshan, Rekha and Preity Zinta, and was even used as a minor plot point, as Jaadoo the alien was also designed to have two thumbs. Hrithik Roshan married Suzanne Khan, daughter of actor Sanjay Khan, on December 20, 2000, together they have two sons, Hrehaan (born in 2006) and Hridhaan (born in 2008).
3) Fardeen Khan
Fardeen Khan is an Indian film actor actor, born March 8, 1974, known for his predominant acting career in Bollywood. In 1998, Fardeen has made his acting debut in Hindi film with Prem Agan, for which he has received the Filmfare Best Debut Award. In 2001, Fardeen starred in successful films such as Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, 2003′s Bhoot, 2005′s No Entry, in 2007′s Heyy Babyy and the 2009′s All the Best: Fun Begins. Fardeen Khan was born to Bollywood actor Feroz Khan and mother Sundari. Fardeen is the nephew of actors Sanjay Khan and Akbar Khan, and he is the cousin of actor Zayed Khan and Suzanne Khan. Fardeen Khan is married to Natasha Madhwani, on December 2005, daughter of Mumtaz, Hindi cinema actress. The wedding was held at Amby Valley, Mumbai. In 2001, Fardeen Khan was was sent back to Narcotics Control Bureau custody, and was accused of carrying cocaine, but was found not guilty. Fardeen announced on October 26, 2012, on his Twitter account that he and his wife are expecting twins and that his wife is 13 weeks pregnant. Khan announced on October 10, 2013 on his Twitter account that he and his wife, Natasha, were expecting a baby in December 2013.
Feroz Khan
Feroz Khan was an Indian actor, director, producer and film editor in the Hindi film industry born September 25, 1939, in Bangalore, India. Feroz Khan is famous for his cowboy walk or strut arrogantly and flamboyant style and cigar toting persona and was named Clint Eastwood of the Hindi cinema. September 25, 1939 – 27 April 2009, Feroz Khan became one of the most loved heroes in India’s cinema with his role in the hit film Qurbani which he also is the director in 1980, and he had appeared in over 50 films in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Khan was born to a Pathan (Pashtun people), an Afghan immigrant (an ethnic group with populations in Afghanistan and Pakistan) father belonging to the tanoli tribe tribe of Ghazni, while his mother was of Iranian descent. Feroz’ brothers are Bollywood actor Sanjay Khan (Abbas Khan), Shahrukh Shah Ali Khan, Sameer Khan and director Akbar Khan and a sister, Dilshad Bibi. Feroz Khan was married to Sundari Khan, and together they have a son, who became an actor, Fardeen Khan, married to Natasha Madhwani, daughter of former Bollywood actress Mumtaz. Feroz’ daughter Laila Khan, was first married to national level tennis player, Rohit Rajpal, but their marriage ended in divorce, and later Laila married Farhan Furniturewala in 2010. Although, Feroz’ son, actor Fardeen and son in law Farhan had their differences after their nearly came to a fight at a nightclub with each other, Fardeen and Farhan sorted and settled their differences, and later became friends and as family members. Feroz Khan became very ill, and returned to his farmhouse in Bangalore to rest, and died on April 27, 2009 at the age of 69, to a battle with cancer.
4) Nayantara
Nayantara born Diana Mariam Kurian on November 18, 1984 in Thiruvalla, Kerala to parents Kurian Kodiyattu and Omana Kurian, both from Malayali Syrian Christian, is an Indian film actress appearing in South Indian films. Nayantara made her acting debut in Manassinakkare, the 2003 Malayalam film, followed with the successful 2004′s Vismayathumbathu before invading the Tamil and Telugu cinema. Nayantara made her debut in 2005′s Ayya, a film by Tamil cinema, and appeared in the successful hit film, Ghajini later that year. In 2005, Nayantara gained fame as a lead actress such as Chandramukhi film. Nayantara’s brother, Leno, who is nine years older to her, is residing in Dubai. Nayantara studied in various parts of India, such as North India, as her father was an Indian Air Force official. Nayantara was romantically linked with the film’s director and co-actor Silambarasan Rajendar (popularly known as Silambarasan, is an Indian film actor, director, playback singer and lyricist of the Tamil film industry) during the filming of her Tamil film, Vallavan. She vehemently denied the reports, however, she confirmed in November 2006, that she and Silambarasan had split up, and add that she will not be working with him again. In 2008, during the filming and after the release of her film Villu, reports spread that she was in a relationship with director Prabhu Deva, with some sources and even claimed that both got married secretly in June 2009. Nayantara had tattooed Prabhu’s name on her wrist, and began appearing with him in publicly, while keeping mum and refused to comment about the relationship. Prabhu Deva openly confessed his love for Nayantara in September 2010, and further stated that he would marry her soon. Prabhu Deva applied for Divorce and separated from his wife.Nayantara confirmed in 2012 that she had ended her relationship with Prabhu Deva. Nayantara made a movie comeback, after the break-up of the much publicized relationship with Prabhu Deva and began shooting in March 2012, with Rana Daggubati for Krish’s Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, after an 11-months break from work. Narantaya converted to Hinduism on August 7, 2011 at the Arya Samaj Temple in Chennai, during the time she was dating Prabhu Deva who was a Hindu, and she wanted to please him. Nayantara went through a procedure Shuddhi Karma involving a Vedic purification and a Homam where she chanted the hymns from Veda and Gayatri Mantra under the priest’s supervision, and a Certificate of Conversion to Hinduism was issued to Nayan, after the purification ceremony, thus, her stage name Nayantara became her official name. Nayantara has a postaxial polydactyly on her left hand.
Silambarasan
Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar popularly known as Silambarasan, born February 3, 1983, is an Indian film actor, director, playback singer and lyricist of the Tamil film industry. Silambarasan started acting as a child actor in films directed by his father, director, music composer, singer actor, screenwriter and politician, Vijaya Thesingu Rajendar known as T. Rajendar, before his first leading role in 2002′s Kadhal Azhivathillai , under the direction of his father and produced by her mother, former actress Usha Rajendar. His mother tongue is Tamil. Silambarasan has two younger siblings, a brother Kuralarasan and a sister Illakiya.
Prabhu Deva
Prabhu Deva is an Indian film choreographer, stage dancer, actor and director known for his works in Tamil, Telugu cinema, Bollywood, Malayalam and Kannada films, with his career for a span of 25 years in the musical and film industry as versatile entertainer. Prabhu Deva has performed and choreograph wide range of styles in dancing, winning two National Film Awards for Best Choreography, and was famous known as the Michael Jackson of India. Prabhu Dheva was married to Ramlath who was a Christian but converted to Hinduism changing her name to Latha as her name in Hinduism, and together they had three children, their eldest son (Basavaraju orVishal) who died in 2008 of cancer. In 2008, while filming Villu, he was romantically linked to actress Nayantara, fell in love on the sets with some reports that they got married secretly, since Prabhu is still married to Ramlath. The scandal issue gained wide media attention that turned into a controversy, since Prabhu Dheva was not yet divorced from Ramalath, which Prabhu Dheva claimed in public that his marriage to Ramalath was invalid, that Prabhu married Nayantara secretly after she underwent conversion to Hinduism. Ramlath filed a petition at the family court, unwilling to grant a divorce, requesting for reconciliation with Prabhu, seeking complaints against her husband and Nayantara’s marriage, while Prabhu and Nayantara has been seen together in public,attending functions and receiving awards as husband and wife. Ramalath threatened to go on a hunger strike if her husband Prabhu Dheva married Nayantara, while numerous women’s organizations conducted protests burning Nayantara’s effigy against for disrespecting the Tamil culture. Nayantara confirmed in 2012, that she had separated with Prabhu Deva. Prabhu Dheva is residing at the old place of Boney Kapoor in Green Acres in Mumbai.
5) Ashish Chowdhry
Ashish Chowdhry is a Bollywood actor, a former Indian model who appears in Bollywood films. Ashish Chowdhry gained popularity in 2003 in his action movie Qayamat, followed by appearing in movies like Girlfriend, Spedd, Three-Love, Lies and Betrayal, Paying Guests, Dhamaal & Double Dhamaal. Chowdhry is the Onida‘s brand ambassador. In Novemebr 27, 2008, his sister and brother-in-law were held hostage and was killed in the the tragedy of shootings in Mumbai, while having dinner at the Oberoi hotel. Esha Deol was born on November 2, 1981 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She was given the full name of Esha Dharmendra Deol was her given full name, which the name Esha comes from the Upanishads derived from the Sanskrit language, which means the divine beloved. Ahana Deol is an Odissi, also known as Orissi dancer, one of the eight India’s classical form of dance. Ahana is known as the daughter of Indian film actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Her various interests, includes Indian classical dance, film-making and fashion designer, currently an actoress-in-the-making. Ahana lives with her mother Hema Malini and sister Esha Deol in Mumbai, India. Karisma Kapoor often informally known as Lolo, is an Indian actress appearing in Bollywood films, daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. In 1991, Kapoor made her acting debut at the age of seventeen with Prem Qaidi. Kapoor has played the leading role in the television series, 2003 Karishma- The Miracles of Destiny and has featured as a reality show talent judge for the Nach Baliye and Hans Baliye. In 1992, he made his acting debut with Yash Chopra‘s film Parampara. In 1994, Saif Ali Khan had his first success films Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Yeh Dillagi.
