Animal is derived from Latin word “Animalis”, which means “having breath”. Animals moved with natural impulse of unstudied behavior or manner and can be aggressive sometimes. Often times animals are referred to as close relative of humans, like the mammals and other vertebrates animals.
There are various kind of species in every animal family. Andhere is a list of endangered animals:
1) Oryx Unicorn
Oryx is a member of antelope family commonly found in many parts of Africa and the Arabian peninsula.
Scimitar Oryx or Scimitar-horned oryx
Scimitar Oryx or Scimitar-Horned oryx or oryx dammah, classified by IUCN as endangered animals in the wild, and can be found in North Africa.
2) Bhutan Takin
The Bhutan Takin, was classified endangered species this animal is found in Bhutan- Western part of China and Tibet and North Eastern India. Bhutan takin can be found in bamboo forest.
3) Gee’s Golden Langur
Gee’s Golden Langur also called golden langur, native to Assam,India and the neighboring slopes of the Black Mountains of Bhutan, and considered as endangered species of India and a sacred animal among Himalayan people.
Javan Lutung or Javan Langur
Javan Lutung or Javan Langur, also called Ebony Lutung, an Old Monkey World species and a native of Java.
Dusky Leaf Monkey
Dusky Leaf monkey is included in the list of animals that are endangered and can be found in Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.

Bornean Orangutan
The Vervet monkey has a unique features such as their blue scrotum and red penis. They also have a whitish gray hair and black colored face.
The cottontop or cotton-head tamarin monkey, also called Pinche tamarin, is a species of the New World Monkey living in tropical forest. They are active during the day and sleeps at night time.
4) Bengal Slow Loris
The Bengal Slow loris or Northern slow loris, is a primate species of slow loris commonly found in the Indian subcontinent and Indochina. They are large and reflective because of the tapetum. Slow loris are close relative of the lorisiforms or galagos.
Galago Senegalensis also called bush babies or nagapies, which means “little night monkeys”are commonly found in continental Africa.
5) Tarsier
Horsfield’s Tarsier are commonly found in Sarawak, Malaysia.
Philippine Tarsier
The Philippine Tarsier ,can be found in Bohol, where the beautiful and famous Chocolate Hills is located. The tarsier is also called in Visayan dialect as ” Maumag” and Mamag in Luzon area.
6) Lemur
The Sunda flying lemur, is also called Malayan flying lemur and is a specie of “colugo” family.

The colugo, commonly found on trees in Southeast Asia also know as flying lemurs, but actually they are not the true lemur.
Aye Aye
Aye-aye are lemur species and a native of Madagascar.
Eulemur Macaco
Silky Sifaka or Silky Simpona ia a large specie of Lemur and a native of Madagascar.
Indri also known as Babakoto is a diumal-tree animal and a relative of the ‘sifakas’ found in Madagascar.
7) Sloths
The Sloths are medium sized mammals of the two-toed sloth ( Megalonychdae family) and the three-toed sloth (bradypodidae) and part of pilosa order and a close relative of the armadillos and anteaters, having similar features of claws.
Anteaters
Silky Anteater or Pygmy anteater is the only living species of Cyclopes genus and Cyclopedidae and can be found in Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela and Paraguay.
Chinese Pangolin
The Chinese pangolins are the scaly anteaters or Trenggiling, found in the tropical regions of China, Africa and Asia, India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
The scaly ant-eater or pangolin is also known Eenampechi in Kerala, Kaballewa in Sinhala and Azhungu or Alangu in Tamil.
9) Armadillos
The screaming hairy armadillo, also known as crying armadillo, a burrowing mammal that makes a loud shrill sound or cry when threatened or caught, thus they are called Screaming hairy armadillos and inhabitant of South America.
The armadillos are best known for their leathery armor shells, and that they would curl up and form into a ball when frightened or threatened. The name armadillo derived from Spanish word “little armored one”. The Aztecs call them azotochtli in Nahuatl language which means “turtle rabbit”. Armadillos are known diggers because of their claws.
10) Leopard Cat
The Leopard cat is a wild cat commonly found in South and East Asia. The Leopard cat can swim, and both genders spray urine in their territories as scent mark. They do have some behavior as the domestic cat have, like rubbing their heads and scratching. The Leopard cat have a distant relation with the Leopard.
Fishing Cat
The Fishing cat (Prionai lurus viverrinus), is a wild cat of Southeast Asia and classified endangered species by the IUCN. They live most on the river banks, streams and mangrove swampy areas. Fishing cat are good swimmers.
Pallas’ Cat
Pallas Cat also called Manul, is a small wild cat, commonly found in the grassland and Mountain side of Central Asia.
Black footed Cat
Black-footed cat (felis nigripes), is the smallest cat in Africa and endemic in Southwest and Southern Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Angola.
Persian Cat
The Persian cat named after Persia, the former Iran, as where most breeds of these cat originated. The long-haired cat, have the hereditary cystic genetic kidney disorders that affects most of the half population of Persian cats.
Siamese Cats
The Siamese cat was the first recognized breeds of Oriental cats, although no confirmation where the origin came from. In Thailand , where several breeds can be found, and they are called Wichian Mat, which means ‘ moon diamond’.
11)Binturong or Asian Bearcat (Civet Family)
The Binturong or Asian bearcat commonly found in Palawan, Philippines is a species of Verridae family, including the genets and civets species. Bearcat is not a bear.
Genets
The genets a “Carnivora family of Viverridae species are related to civets and linsangs, and could be a ‘distant relatives of the cats’.
Civet
The Civet is native to Africa and tropical Asian forests. The most famous civet species is the African civets (Civettictis civetta) which is the main species with musky scent, an aromatic substance used in perfumery.
Asian Palm Civet
The Asian Palm civet, also called Toddy cat, is a small member of the viverridae family, commonly found in the forest of South and Southeast Asia. The Asian palm civet are best known for their Kopi Luwak or civet coffee, one of the world’s expensive coffee. Kopi Luwak are coffee beans wherein the Asian Palm civet consumed the coffee bean’s flesh, and the seeds are being defecated or feces ( animal waste product) by the civets. Kopi Luwak are produced in Suwalesi, Sumatra, Java and Bali in Indonesia and also in the Philippines and called Motit coffee in the Cordillera and Kape Alamid in Tagalog areas.
Kopi Luwak, ” civet’s feces”, being washed and dried and pass through coffee processing ( ground or powdered coffee).
12) Siberian Weasel
The Siberian weasel or Mustela Sibirica, is a medium sized weasel species found in Asia. It is commonly called Kolonok in Asia.
13) Red Squirrel
The Red squirrel or Eurasian red squirrel is a tree-squirrel specie found in Eurasia.
Hairy-footed flying squirrel
The Hairy-footed flying squirrel found in Himalaya mountains, Southeast Asia and Northern China, and classified as endangered species of its kind.

14) Cairo Spiny Mouse
The Cairo spiny mouse are native in Libya, Sudan, Ethiopia and Djbouti. The Spiny mouse or the Cairo spiny mouse have the common feature of a mouse, but not related and more closer to the gerbil species. They have stiff-hairs and scaly tails similar to hedgehog spines.
Link Rat
The Link rat commonly found in the forests of Victoria Nile and Cameroon, have orange and brown combination on its back and forehead and white furs in its side, and like the spiny mouse, the hair are stiff.
15) Mountain Goat or Rocky Mountain Goat
The mountain goat, also called rocky mountain goat, the largest species of goat found in North America.
Japanese Serow
The Japanese Serow, also known in Japan as Nihon Kamoshika, is a species of goat and antelope family in the low density forest of Honshu, Japan. It belong to the capricorn or Naemorhedus crispus family.
Sumatran Serow
The Capricornis sumatraensis or known as Sumatran serow, belongs to the goat-antelope species commonly found in the forests or mountains of Thai-Malay Peninsula and island of Sumatra in Indonesia.
16) Dall Sheep
Dall sheep or also called stone sheep, are native to in Northwestern America.
Angali Sheep
Argali sheep or mountain sheep are wild sheep found in the mountainous side of Himalaya, Tibet and Altay mountains of Mongolia.
17) Bearded pig
The Bearded pig (Sus barbatus) or Bornean bearded pig, found in the rain forests of Borneo, Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula.
Babirusa Pig
The Babirusa pig are commonly found in Sulawesi, Togian, Sulu and Buru Islands of Indonesia and Wallacea. It is called the pig-deer in English and called babi-rusa in Indonesia.
Southern Bush Pig
The Potamochoerus, or commonly called Bush pig, are native in Sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar.
Red River Hog
The Potamochoerus porcus or Red river hog, is a wild pig found in Guinea and Congo forests in Africa. They belong to the bush pig family.
18) Brazilian Tapir
The South American tapir or Brazilian tapir also called lowland tapir are member of the Malayan tapir and the Baird’s tapir, and the second largest mammal in South America. The tapir are known for its Flehmen response (curling of the upper lip).

20) Pink Dolphin
The Pink dolphin or Botos in Brazil, are the most classified endangered mammal of the Amazon river. They are commonly found in the river of Orinoco and are distant family of the sea dolphins. The Pink dolphins are the most intelligent and friendly among dolphin species (river or sea dolphins).
